This is the first Ibanez bass that I've played. I own a bunch of basses from USA Fenders to Squires and others. I purchased the Ibanez Talman because it looked so cool and the price was very reasonable. It's amazing how good the bass is for the money. It plays and sounds great. Nice low action right out of the box. The neck is straight and the frets are smooth. I tuned it and checked the intonation. It was correct. I don't care for the round wounds strings, but that is just preference, there is nothing wrong with them. (I just like differently strings). The P/J pick up and preamp give a nice range of tones. The P pick-up has plenty of punch and the J has plenty of tone. Then bass looks great is beautifully finished. I'd say that it's and incredible value. A bass that is good for a player of any level. A great bass if you want something that looks an bit different than a Fender.Read full review
