I have used Yamaha mixers in the past, in particular your powered mixer and found them to be user friendly. This mixer rocks! It is very lightweight, almost seemed like a toy, but has an arsenal of powerful features and great frequency handling capabilities. I broadcast on stream, and the sound that comes out is natural with default settings. Most other mixer I have used, I had to tweak allot. This is a pro grade mixer and if someone does not understand how to use a pro mixer, they might have a little learning curve as far as Monitors, grouping, aux to monitors and so on. The FX onboard are very good. Personally , I like the "ON" button for each channel so I can mute the channel. I also like the Grouping and ST routing per channel on a touch of a button.
