My 9 year old daughter has been playing for about 6 months now and she was playing on one of my guitars. She keep the interest so I bought her a smaller scale and blue is her favorite color this Ibanez was perfect. I played it myself a good bit. Once you get the strings broke in the tune will hold and it has a very crisp sound clean. If you have a younger one learning or yourself just needs a smaller version to practice here and there I definitely recommend this guitar.
