PROS: It puts out enough RMS for many higher end subwoofers and has a large range of control. It also gives the consumer the option to put bass boost on it or just leave it the way it is. Good build quality, sturdy and doesn't feel too plasticy. Multiple amplifiers and subwoofers can be hooked up to it and it even has a good protection device that stops a sub from shorting. CONS: If anything, it could have more lighting, my opinion (just to make it cooler).
This amp is small, compact and provides al lot of power. I bought this amp to match my other amps which i already had which are XR1S & a XR4S. At this point i have no dislikes about this amp. I cant compare to other brands cause i have always owned kenwood equipment, i can only compare to other kenwood units. It beats older kenwwod units in size, looks,& weight. performance depends on the type of subs that is being used. I have 12" shallow subs that sound great and look great, Bottom line if you can find this amp used or a refurbished unit, its well worth it. I'm not looking to be heard 3 blocks away like some people, i look for quality sound to enjoy my music and this amp provide quality sound with very little distortion.
I have a complete excelon system with the LC6I HU upgrade running 2-12's and 6 smaller 4. -6.5 mounted dash and sound bar- t 2.5 tweeters 6 total speakers & subs Two amps - one for the subs- ran off of a XR1-S excelon 2000max 600 RMS- love this sound !!!! Highly recommend ..
