    YAESU Vx6r review

    This is a real nice radio for the money. The U.S. version has 3 bands. The programming takes a little learning, but when you get it down, it's a great portable hand held. It feels good in my hand. SRS Tactical made a PTT headset with an extra plug for my cell phone. The cell is constantly on and the radio has the PTT capability.

    Best 3 band radio for the price.

    Yaesu radios are some of the best made and the vx-6 is a great value for the price. Very few other radios made have tri-band with such a great rang of recieve capabilities. It's small size and waterproof feachers make it a really great portable radio.

    Used in rain, dropped it, in car between 0 and 120+ Degrees

    and it keeps a good charge and ALWAYS works when you need it. Strong, loud RX and adjustable quality tx audio, so you don't have to hold radio right up to your face. Even fairly intuitive field programmable. I have the "R" version, but the "E" version gets you even more features. You won't have to replace it when dropped like the Chinese HT's. It is a REAL quality PROFESSIONAL HT. I would go as far as to compare it favorably to our FD Moto's.

    Durable, great value, still retains many E version features.

    Very durable, great battery life. Be aware that default frequency offsets are still European (some simplex frequencies will default to offset). Just a minor inconvenience at times.
