I wanted tops to prevent the milk from slopping out of an open bottle when the fridge door was closed - a frequent occurrence with my fridge. I was looking for a plastic cap similar to those I remembered from my childhood, and these seemed to fit the bill. These tops come in two parts, a top with a pouring spout and a cap to close the bottle. Like other buyers of this product I found the top with the pouring spout very tight. However, the upper, closed cap was perfect and I use these alone to stop spillage in the fridge. The upper caps fit well enough for this purpose and are easy to get on and off. I am very pleased.

I have now broken two fingernails trying to pry these plastic caps off our pint milk bottles. They snap down with a solid fit but are almost impossible to remove from the bottle. I am looking around for the same type of cap (just a bit larger), but in the meantime, we are using them by throwing away the part with the hole that fits over the bottle, & just using the cap itself. It doesn't fit solid & is it's loose, but it does the trick until something better comes along.

The caps are a very tight fit, once on they will not leak, however taking them off is a different matter, I have a strong grip, but you have to apply so much pressure to get them off it hurts your fingers. I now use a knife to wedge up the cap to prize it off, this is slightly damaging the lid so it may not be a permanent solution. Ideally they should also provide a gadget to get the lids off as well. Update: Before you throw them away because they are too tight, the answer is to make a small slit about halfway down each side of the cap with a stanley knife, this allow the cap to flex over the milk bottle top without hurting your fingers and it still works as well.

I have already reviewed this! These are brilliant - I remember similar items from my childhood days, but they were only singles. The collection of seven with day stamps is a big improvement. As I said in my previous review(!):- Do NOT put these on top of the foil caps (as advised in the instructions) - do each one daily as you need it. Soak the plastic top in very hot of boiling water before trying to put it on the bottle. This is because, of necessity, they need to be a close fit to prevent leaking. When soaked they snap on very easily. They are not so easy to remove, but it can be done either by heating the plastic top under a hot tap or by levering off with a blunt or round ended spoon handle.

These are coloured for easy ID - one per day so that you bottles can be kept in order. In fact we just don't want our milk slopping around our fridge door, which is where the design of our fridge falls down. We used to get spillage ( and stale cheese!) when the door invariably is closed firmly. Not now! The tops fit well and have a cap that opens to let you pour ( and an air hole). We found it is necessary to warm the caps in hot water to get the plastic to flex onto our bottle necks, and the same for removal, though I notice after three weeks it is now getting easier. Perhaps we will not need to do this much longer? I now enjoy a clean fridge door. Should have done it years ago!
