Its all banged up like that ad says. The recoil wouldn't turn the engine over. I had to use a breaker bar to remove the sparkplug which was rusted completely, luckily the threads didn't pull. The piston was seized to the bore. I pondered about returning it as there is 60 days and buyer pays shipping. I needed to get some work done so used my trusty rust dissolver. Sprayed it into the sparkplug hole and puddled the piston. Sloshing it around and threaded the sparkplug in/out to clean the threads. After a bit I pulled the recoil cover assembly and used a nut holding down the flange that the recoil rotates the engine with to rotate the crankshaft. It did gradually break free with some crunching sound of rust. I did get it running and its powerful and sounds it. At full throttle is just blasts. Partial throttle has a burble but no stalling. Idles fine and no smoking when warm. Starts easily with the new system of just pulling a lever which also sets the throttle so no fumbling with that while pulling. It takes a bit to get it past the compression strokes so holding it down it the toughest part on starting. I recommend it but beware it may not run right out of the box.Read full review

ive always stuck it out with the husky. always a firm believer. this past year has been a rough one on the bank account. desperately seeking a new saw to get through the winter i searched all over for the perfect bargain yet needed assurance it would last the winter and i could keep my kids warm. all the research kept leading to one saw. the poulan pro 42cc. ive always been told the green ones are junk but the pros are decent saws. once i discovered they were made by husquavarna the choice was easy. i would recommend ignoring all the hype about this saw being so difficult to start. if you can start a husky you can start this saw with no problems. it arrived looking brand new! fired up and went to cutting within a few mins of its very early arrival. this is a good saw. powerful, low vibrations, and heavy enough to pull itself through the wood but light enough to pack it out after a day of cutting. if you cant afford the big husky the 440 rancher, then this sae next best thing to reliability. skip the little huskys and just get this one.Read full review
