This is a real screamer. Straight out of the box added fuel mix and bar oil, 2 pulls and it was like a banshee come to life. With a 28" bar and full skip chain gotta be careful on soft wood as it tears through so much faster than my old POS "P" brand saw from the HD store. If you're going to be cutting your own firewood or cleaning up heavily treed property then this will make your work a lot easier. Yes it's pricey but worth it. And it looks good. Sometimes I slip out to the garage and set it on my lap and tell it stories about how I used to cut wood with an under powered saw. Some angry German wood cutting power I tell ya.

Amazing saw. I had the MS290 Farm Boss, and this saw is so much better quality. There's very little plastic on this chainsaw, most of it it steel. The little plastic that is on there ( orange top cover ) is solid and thick, and feels like it's made to last 30 years. The manual is great, it explains everything you need to know about cutting down trees, it has winter and summer operating knob, which is easy to set. I also highly recommend to get a Stihl chainsaw hard plastic carry case, since the saw comes in a cardboard box. It's meant for forestry, heavy and daily use. It's light enough to use the whole day, yet powerful enough to cut the largest trees. I have done a LOT of research before buying this chainsaw. I reviewed the cheaper chinese makes, the Husky's ( Husqvarna ) and eventually decided that this was going to be the chainsaw I'd buy. Take my advice, don't go for anything cheaper. This chainsaw will last you a lifetime.Read full review
I have owned several Stihl chainsaws a MS 290 and a MS 310, but were outstanding saws and never disappointed me. I purchased the MS 362 professional saw because my MS 310 farm saw was starting to slow down after approximately 10 years of use and over 100 cord of wood cut! The MS 362 saw is ten times the saw of the MS 310. I put a 20 inch bar on it and started in. OMG fast, no lugging light!!! I am 56 but in great shape, I cut up a cord and a half on wood in one day, split and stacked it with the time I saved in cutting. Wished I would have spent the extra 10 years ago and purchased a professional saw. I thought there is not that much difference between a 4.2 bhp and a 4.7 bhp engine, I could not have been more wrong! If you are looking at the difference do yourself a big favor and try a professional saw first, you won't regret it!Read full review
Very very. pleased with the saw. Me and the Mrs. bought 15 acres of Mature hardwoods. To build our dream home. Got to get out and get started this past weekend. And let me tell you this saw really Rip's. Very impressive. I've ran saws all my life and I've never cut up so much wood in one day. The only complaint that I would have is it cut so well that you got to stop frequently throughout the day and clean the wood shavings out of your boots. True story.

This saw has the power to do the big jobs and is light weight enough to work with all day. I could not be much happier with a saw than I am with this one. Excellent job Stihl! 63 yr. old farmer/rancher
