These are not the originals. Part fit and finish is not what Aurora achieved and plastic gears absorb a little energy and longevity, but the performance is not noticeably hampered. For the $49.99 shipped for FOUR CHASSIS, you can't get better new chassis for the price. It's a pretty forgiving format for beginners and great for kids to learn some early mechanical and technical skills. Kids, dads and granddads still love these things for their dependability and workability, and get my highest recommendation for entry level HO slot cars that can sustain interest and respect over the years.These are not the originals. Plastic vs Metal
I don't like the plastic gears vs the brass gears of the original T-Jet. They don't sound as good and they don't run as smooth.
