Shawn Michaels is one of the greatest pro-wrestlers in WWE history. He has won the Pro Wrestling Illustrated Award for Match of the Year twelve times. He is also a 'pioneer' as well in the wrestling business. This documentary chronicles from his early-beginnings in Texas to (then) 2007. It even shows on how he became an obnoxious, selfish low-life to a man of God. This DVD set also has some of his best, underrated matches from his career.

Michael Shawn Hickenbottom, otherwise known as professional wrestling's one and only Shawn Michaels, is one of the sport's true success stories unlike any other. Starting his illustrious career in 1986, he has achieved more in-ring accolades than any other participant to ever lace up a pair of boots and step into the squared circle. He has won the WWE Championship, Intercontinental Championship, Tag Team Titles, and has soared to the top of wrestling's mountain-top in remarkable fashion. Whether he has aligned himself with the likes of Marty Janetty, Kevin Nash, Triple H, Scott Hall, manager Sensational Sherri or been on his own, he has had an outstanding run. His is a story like no other individual. What makes this in-ring sensation so unique is his charismatic persona and his techical abilities. Throughout his career, he has ascended to major heights, and likewise has dropped down to unbelievable lows- both personally and professionally. After a long-term series of struggles on many levels, it took a touch of spirituality and his relationship with his Lord and savior Jesus Christ that he was finally able to turn his life around for the better. This 3-disc DVD set presents a revealing look at "The Heartbreak Kid", showcasing some of his finest wrestling matches ever to be assembled in one collection. One of the highlights is that of his Rockers reunion with Janetty in March 2005, from an episode of Monday Night RAW. His story is one that every young person can learn from. A brilliant DVD about a special man.Read full review
A wonderful three disc DVD collection for fans of Shawn Michaels or any wrestling fan for that matter. I'm not a big fan of Michaels but I think he's the stuff legends are made of. I enjoyed this collection and it was well worth the purchase. The discs feature never before seen baby photos and footage of Shawn as a child. Home videos of a young Shawn Michaels and his friend wrestling each other shows his early interest in the art of pro wrestling or "Sports Entertainment" if you will. Footage of Shawn visiting his old high school is included as he relates his high school exploits and football years. The usual interviews with his family and friends and various wrestlers including Marty Jannetty and the late great Sensational Sherri Martel who acted as Shawn's valet/manager. Cool footage of when "DX" was born. I wish the WWE had added more DX "attitude era" footage. Clips of the infamous and controversial Bret Hart "Montreal screw job" is included and discussed. Other topics: the Marines incident, Michaels heel turn on Jannetty on the "Barber Shop", the Canadian flag up his nose bit, the mock "Larry King" interview which he imitates Hulk Hogan in a less than flattering way. This DVD traces the "Heart Break Kid" from his youth, his wrestling debut, the problems he and Marty Jannetty encountered in their first WWF run, the rise and fall of the Rockers, his own personal rise and fall due to his "demons", and his rise back into life and the spotlight again. He credits this rise to his Born Again Christian faith and wife Rebecca (former WCW Nitro girl known as "Whisper") and his children. Footage of Michaels at his church and at a wilderness outing is featured. (Not heavy on the religion). This is a must-have for any WWE or Shawn Michaels fan. Anlong with the Shawn Michaels biography it includes hours of classic matches like the first-ever hell in cell (HBK Vs.Undertaker)and the ironman(HBK vs.Bret Hart). It also includes "behind the curtain" content such as the Bret Hart screw job, and his real life animosity with Shawn Michaels. I was extremly happy with this DVD boxset, and will be too!
It is good.
