First of all, it IS a Pilot. Anything said about superior quality is almost redundant after saying that. However, the weight of the pen, its length, the quality of the material and the intricate web design on the barrel and cap (linear is also available) combine to give the Justus 95 a "grail pen" quality. The adjustability of the nib's flexibility from Hard (equals Fine) to Soft (equals flexible) makes it highly satisfactory for art work without having to keep three or four pens of varying nib sizes at hand. For the money--and prices range broadly on eBay--this pen serves not so much as a niche pen, but as one that is broadly satisfying. My pen is a F-M nib.

penpen-avenue is my new favorite way to buy new Japanese fountain pens. Store was easy to navigate and with upgraded shipping I had the pen in my hands five days from purchase. The Pilot Justus is a unique pen that allows the writer to switch between a hard and soft nib (or in between) simply by turning a dial on the grip.
