This Barbie doll is an important link in a collection, if you are interested in authentic german "Trachten" clothing, because it shows the latest development of the usually very traditional bavarian "Dirndl" dress. Not every german woman, that likes to wear Dirndls, will wear this version, with the short skirt, over the knee stockings, high heels and off the shoulder blouse with plunging decollete. But you certainly can see it being worn at the beer fests, by the younger generation of women. This doll has an authentic and detailed look, which the previous "Doll of the World" German styled Barbies didn't have (those Dirndls and dolls were very disappointing, compared to other nationality's clothing the "DotW" collection depicts), I'm a German and a Barbie collector and I know and I can only say, you have to have this doll in your collection! :) B.Read full review

I was Lucky to have found a pristine boxed version in the liquidation section at a major outlet ages ago, and so I purchased this beauty for next to nothing. Now, years later, this beautifully designed doll's collectibility hasn't increased her general value so it is still quite affordable for those who wish to add it to their collection. Her outfit is easily removed, but her "hair buns" are this side of impossible to "de-bundle", making her hairstyle not very OOAK-friendly. However if you wish to leave her as is, she is a great value!
