This pedal is very large. Larger than most! The Chorus effect is on the milder side i would say. It has excellent tone, but if your looking for more extreme chorus effects this is not the pedal for you. Sounds best with mild chorus effect. As for the Vibrato, don't see myself using that very much. Had a vintage CE-2 before trying this out, and they are pretty similar. The CE-2 is cleaner and crispier in tone, but very pretty close to the CE-1. Considering the huge mark up for the CE-1 i would say it's a little overpriced. And don't forget the power cord and huge size which is not ideal for the pedalboard.

Usually if someone doesn't absolutely go crazy over the CE-1 it's because they are using it wrong or at least not how it was intended...it's warm and not as harsh as a phase shifter or cheaper choruses...It was initially designed for keys to run stereo but then they realized it was even better for guitars using two amps using two channels live or in the studio which gave a very wide stereo sweep like you double tracked panning hard right and hard left...huge! It is NOTHING like the ce-2. If you want Psychedelic in your face kinda chorus it's not for you but for a doubling effect in stereo theres nothing better.

The original chorus pedal that started it all. I have played on all of the big name boutique chorus pedals. This is by far one of the warmest chorus pedals I have ever played on. I definitely recommend this for anyone who enjoys warm thick chorus effects.
Most know they want it because it is what Frusciante used.
