For $150.00, you have a nice quality guitar with wonderful intonation and spectacular action. That, however, is a concern. Most decent instruments are shipped with no tension on the truss rod and the strings slack. That's how this guitar was shipped as well. Once tuned up, the last three strings (G, B, E) fret out above the 10th fret position. Odd, as there is no negative relief on the neck. Once checked again, the hex nut in the sound hole moves freely, indicating that there is no negative relief to adjust to reduce back bow and get rid of the strings fretting out. At this point, with the strings in tune, I'm going to let it sit for a week and see if the tension on the strings is enough to bow the neck a slight amount and relieve the fretting out above the 10th fret. If it doesn't, I'll go to a higher gauge string (it is strung with extra light) and see if the extra tension with light gauge strings brings the neck up a little (complicated by the fact that I'm using a heavier gauge string which is thicker and may increase the buzzing, and on more strings. The last solution is to shim under the bone in the bridge, which will likely solve the problem. I don't like shimming the bridge, as it effects tone and sustain. Regardless, the package includes a strap, a tuner, two extra sets of strings, guitar polish, string lube and a hex key to adjust the truss rod. I think the sound, sustain and playability of the guitar does Epiphone proud. Assuming that I can work out the fretting out issue, this is one hell of a deal. There is a similar deal for a Peavy acoustic guitar, with roughly the same package of accessories. I had that guitar and sold it to a guy who wanted to take lessons from me. The Peavy was a nice guitar as well. Epiphone has a longer and better history and I went this way. The Peavy came with a gig bag and the Epiphone doesn't. I had a brand new TKL 00-size case which fits the Epiphone perfectly, so I didn't care about not getting a gig bag.Read full review

I sold my Swingster to upgrade to a similar model but different brand name. Big mistake! I feel like I spent $500.00 more for less with my so called upgrade. I loved the Swingster soo much that I thought I would get more out of a more expensive renowned brand name. I miss the ability to switch from the dual to the single pickup sounds. I was able to go from hot bright lead licks, to warm full bodied jazz/blues rhythms, to wangy. I use to record rhythms and leads with one "Swingster". Now I have to record using two guitars for two different sounds. Dave
