Though this is not the new improved model, it is still very versatile... I did work at setting action, pickup height, trem saddle and trem tension for my liking; I do this with most new guitars....I now have a powerful Strat and much more. under the hood... When delivered it came with regular energizer batteries that surprising lasted for about a week ( 5-6 hours, I'm guessing)....I have opted for the high output rechargables recommended by Fender/Roland. Plays very well, love the normal (N) strat bell tones, the 12 string is great...I use it with a lot with all of the modeling guitars not just the acoustics....when I distort with the 12 string on say the humbucker, it gives my sound a chorusing dimension.

Nice guitar but, I have noticed after buying mine and examining others the nut spacing and placement is not consistent. Play it first when it comes to this model. Examine the nut spacing in pictures carefully. I had to have my nut replaced by a Fender Authorized Repair Man at Guitar Center and he was sloppy and put a dent in my fret board. Guitar Center offered to buy me a new neck but Fender couldn't Guarantee a quality wood grain as I had picked out after searching through Hundreds of these for sale. It plays better now and I will live with the dent to remind me to stay way from Guitar Center for any repairs. I should have shipped back to Willcutt, maybe they would have did a better job?

This is my second Fender Stratocaster. I was so impressed with the first one I purchased that I went for another. The main difference between the two is my first one has a Humbucker pick-up and this one is all single coil. But the 3 single coil pick-ups have a rich tone and a vase number of sound setting that can be used. The five position switch gives you the choice. The neck is really nice but is different than that of a Les Paul type guitar. Both are great guitars but I now use the Fender Stratocaster most of the time. Very happy with this product. If you want a great guitar try a Fender Stratocaster for yourself. I did:)

Sounds very good for a composite body guitar. One pot doesn't work and the tuners don't hold very well. I ordered replacements from Stew Mac they are just about as bad. Very poorly made tuners and not the prior owner's fault that's just the way these are.

I was lucky enough to stumble on one of these in a Pawn shop in the UK. I paid £450 and its worth every penny.. a Stratocaster that stays in tune no matter what you throw at it, super bends, dive bombs, overly jubilant strumming, its a demon. Has the priceless unique sound that only a Fender Strat can make, but with addded sustain from the weight of the Kahler, the ability to stay in tune forever and ring like a bell. Great craftsmanship from Fuji-Gen. These particular strats with this exact spec are rare in that they do not specify country of manufacture, a unique ghost of a guitar which is an absolute pleasure to own and play.
