Fingering feel great, easy to play, a good compromise between a true classical guitar, and a hybrid. I like having the marks for the third, fifth, ninth, and twelfth frets. Neck isn't as wide as a true classical, which I like, and I like the cut away at the fourteenth fret. If you're a true classical guitar player, you'll probably not like this guitar, but if you're used to playing regular acoustic guitars, this one is the type to buy if you're looking for the nylon string sound, and the neck that's close to an acoustic.

Still sounds amazing but I specifically sent the people who were selling it an email asking them if it had any cracks at all in it and they told me no and it showed up with cracks at the bottom. Also the case they sent with it isn't the right case so the guitar moves around inside the case, which means I will need to get another case for traveling purposes. It's still a Taylor though and is my dream guitar so it plays well.

This is one of the best, small body guitars you can buy. I have other large body guitars made by Martin & they are exceptional instruments, but for a small instrument this Taylor is one of the best. I play it every day & have made a great friend of it! Good sound & easy to fret. All around great guitar!

I was looking for a guitar to lead worship with that was well balanced through the frequency range, meaning it had to have robust lows without getting muddy, present mids without getting boxy and clear highs without getting piercy and the Taylor 714ce delivers on all counts. Beyond how good it sounds in person the Fishman expression system in this older model is equally as phenomenal for going to front of house with a fantastic signal...it also works fantastic for recording. The playability on the guitar is also to be noted as its as smooth as an acoustic gets with a perfectly shaped neck thats not slim but not chunky either. The action gets nice and low so using even heavy gauge acoustic strings is easier and the guitar looks amazing as well. I can't say enough good things about his guitar especially after having owned the mostly maple 614 which lacked the low end and low-mids I was after. HIGHLY recommended for anyone looking for a beautiful instrument that's well balanced and plays great!!!!Read full review

bought it used (mfg 2006?), finish is cracked due to negligence of previous owner, but spruce top is not cracked also. Original Taylor sound system still intact, sounds good! Plays excellent. Well built and my dream was to own a Taylor.
