Easy to use, easy knob/ button control, large water tank, decent size bean hopper, strong steam output, delicious coffee and espresso, good value as new-other, wish we bought it sooner. Highly recommend it.

So far, I haven't been able to get it to make the great cup of coffee that I am looking for. I can get a great Americano but still haven't adjusted it enough to get a great cup of coffee easily. Will keep working on it as it has great flavor if it is made as an Americano. I haven't been able to get it to steam, just put out hot water, from the steam wand. Will keep working on that also.

This automatic replaces a Proteo Romanzo that we had purchased at Starbuck's a while back. The Proteo was having some issues occasionally with the steam delivery and we just used it periodically because it is a bit of a production to use it (especially if using it after a period of non-use when you have to clean out the water container, etc.). The ESAM3300 has become THE coffee maker for the household whether you are just wanting that morning cup (in the form of an Americano) or if you are feeling like something special like a Capucinno. In the month we have had this machine we have gone through approx. 4-5 lbs of coffee and it does a pretty good job of delivering decent espresso, easily, and quickly. Add to that, it is easy to take care of, and you have a winner in my book. I do have to say that I am not a fan of the automatics in Starbucks or other espresso shops. To compensate, I usually order a smaller cup with my usual triple shot when encountering an automatic. The nice thing about having your own automatic is that you can compensate in many ways until you find the right setup. You can use the adjustments on the machine (grind, amound of water in the shot, streghth of shot are all adjustable) and of course the type of coffee you buy. Here in Seattle we have lots of choices. So far what I am liking are a couple of Peet's roasts....but I am just getting started! Anyway, we like it and use it daily.Read full review
I researched espresso machines for about a month. I read many opinions on both fully automatic, semi-automatic and those that require a lot of "barista" experience. I chose the DeLonghi 3300 because of construction, looks and ease of use. It has NOT disappointed me. I use it every morning for two quad-venti lattes for my husband and me for our trip to work and sometimes for an extra shot before that! The recovery time between shots is very short and cleaning the machine is a breeze. It is a little noisy but the tradeoff between a little noise in the morning and spending $3000/year at Starbucks is a no brainer. I love it and it makes my home smell like fresh brewed coffee all the time!!!!
The machine has complete features: from automatic grinder to frother. As the description implies, it's super automatic = simple to use. All the user needs to know is how to put coffee (beans or ground) and water to the machine, and use the frother. I bought a Krups before, and it was a piece of trash compared to this DeLonghi. The performance has been consistent: excellent crema, smooth froth. I haven't been back to the coffee shop since I own this machine.
