The watch has a very thick black ion coating. The hands do glow for several minutes longer than the standard luminescent hands. The clasp on this watch is a little too loose for my taste but it’s not something too annoying. If you like to wear your watch loose around your wrist than expect some rattling from the clasp. After about an hour in the sun my watch has held a charge and has not lost a second of time. Oh, one more thing. The alarm can only be set for one day at a time. Once the alarm goes off you are going to have to set the alarm again, it stinks if you depend on an hourly every day alarm. The compass is fairly good, you just have to really read and understand how to use it. I just needed a good looking and comfortable casual watch so these things don’t bother me.
