The 1952 Proof Franklin Half Dollar is one of the scarcer issues in the series. It is also the third lowest mintage from the Proof Franklin Half Dollar series. It is fairly common in grades up to about PR65. Anything higher becomes even scarcer.
With Cameo surfaces it is very hard to find in any grade and anything above PR65 Cameo is very scarce. Examples above PR65 condition usually command a significant premium.
With Deep Cameo surfaces it is almost unheard of and very few examples are confirmed in all grades combined. Expect to pay a huge premium for any example containing Deep Cameo surfaces.
I have a complete set of ungraded Franklins and many graded. This by far is the best deal I have made on a purchase of a single coin EVER. I paid less than half the book value of this beautiful coin. Great eye appeal and possibly under graded. Franklins are one of those coins that can sometimes go under the radar as potential high yield investment coins. The only problems you can really see are under high magnification. My best advice is stay away from milk spotted coins. Which occurs when the soap solution coins are dipped in before being struck still remains on the coin. It is then struck into the coin permanently. Buy 66 and higher Franklins if it's in your budget.
