Part of A&E's acclaimed Biography series, this serves as a solid introduction to the career of one of the most significant presidents in the history of the United States. With a run time of 50 minutes, it is not a detailed nor (as described) an "intimate" exploration of this incredibly complex man who led the American nation through the Great Depression and World War II after himself suffering a crippling illness. I would have liked to see more detail about Roosevelt than this DVD presents, but at the same time I recognize that it would be impossible to do so in 50 minutes. I am quite satisifed with this as an introduction to the life of FDR, but it is hardly an exhaustive or even detailed treatment of FDR.
I always admired FDR and his wife and wanted to see how this DVD was. I did not dislike any part and wished and cryed while watching that we had a president like that now. The DVD ended too soon. I could still watch more. He was the kind of president I wish for. I decided to buy it and will always be glad I did.
It was recommended to me by a friend because I had polio just like FDR did and she thought I would enjoy knowing what all he did to help enlighten people about this disease people who had a similar handicap
