There was no real new information. The comparisons of what you can and shouldn't eat were put together nicely. It at least instills in your mind that you don't have to starve to lose weight you just have to eat right. I think a diet plan book that I am looking for is more of a daily menu...A checklist of what to eat for someone on the go. That would make it a lot easier than counting calories, fat or carbs. The book did say that weight loss is so simple...eat less calories than you burn on a daily basis and you will lose weight. I am down 15 pounds in 1 1/2 months but not just from this book but a combination of different diets. So there was some inspiration here in this book but no miracle weight loss plan here. Eat properly, some exercise and weight will come off. The trick is to stay on any plan long enough to reach your goal.Read full review
This book is very informative and helpful. The illustrations are great for comparing calorie count and fat content on certain foods to avoid. It compares bad and good foods as an alternative with pictures. Exceptionally perfect for older persons on a low cholesterol diet. Also, very good for diabetics. I would recommend this book to all ages.
It is very practical and will help you visualize the choices you must make when you put food or drink into the one and only body you have been given to take care of. Easy to understand even if you don't like diets or programs, just real life nutrition.
My husband and I wanted to change our eating habits and this is a great start at our age, it is rather difficult! 46 & 54.
