This is a good phone for the money. It came with an airtime card that was worth the price of the phone. The processor is reasonably quick, and it does what it is supposed to do. The screen is average size, about the same as an iPhone 4s. A little small for an older person, but would be fine for most people. The camera is only 3 pixels, with a digital zoom, so the pictures are OK, but nothing to rave about. Same with the video. Works fine, but there is no zoom on the video. We rarely use our phone, so Tracfone is a very inexpensive way for us to have one. They piggyback on Verizon 3G, which works well in our area. The ZTE also allows you to connect through a wireless network and make calls and surf the web without using your minutes. It connects quickly to a wireless network and works seamlessly. Tracfone is just now allowing smartphones to run on their network, so expect to see more powerful phones in the near future. But this is a good phone for the money, and cheap enough that, if it breaks or gets lost, you can just buy another. Would make a great first phone for a kid!Read full review
I decided to buy a TracFone ZTE Valet after being on a contract phone service for several years. I had a Tracfone when I first started using cell phones and it was great. This phone for the money is a great phone for starting with a smartphone, although I am a little lost sometimes. The keypad seems small, touchy and I have trouble using it. I have had problems with converting my phone numbers from my old phone to the ZTE using the scan disk card. I finally just manually enter them, this also goes for the photos also. I was putting info into the contacts list and somehow got into another section that had phone contacts on it with some of the same listings. What's with that? It seems hard to delete numbers and import items to me. The camera is about average nothing to get excited about. It is slow sometimes when trying to get on the wifi and when you put the data, sync, and get other programs going your battery life drops really quick. I have had to charge it every night while I am learning how to program it and use it. On the plus size the phone reception is great and I have had no trouble with calling and talking on it. My son has a Iphone and says it is easier, but for the cost I am willing to keep learning and hopefully become more smarter with the smartphone as I continue to learn how to use it. I mainly brought it because of the price and for calling, but having other technology is fun if you don't let it overwhelm you.Read full review
This is a fairly decent phone for the $25.00 that I paid. After installing a few apps, I use this device primarily as a very small tablet PC. Speedometer and pedometer apps are my most commonly used programs. Rarely do I use this device as a phone but when I do, the phone reception is not too bad. Screen resolution is about as much as one would expect from such a small screen: it is quite acceptable. I prefer the Tracfone system of occasionally purchasing airtime. I do not want to be locked into a contract such as other cell phone companies require. A month has elapsed since I bought this phone and if it lasts six months, I think I will be very pleased. We will see.
For the price it is a very nice little phone.. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles the newer $500 smart phones have, but for the price it does a good job. I have only 2 complaints: 1- I wish it had a little more internal RAM. A good memory management App is a must to keep the RAM clear and the phone from slowing down..It has about 400mb.. I wish it had at least 512.. Obviously the more the better. 2- The wireless coverage is quite poor. BUT the Tracfone phone coverage and Data coverage is very good here in the Northeast.. Also the GPS coverage/receiver is also good.. 4 Stars easily.. I would give 5 if it had more RAM..
For the price its well worth it. Feature wise it meets my needs.Slow to connect to the internet.Disconnects at times.Does not readily detect the internet signal.Phone :Slow to turn on.Dial pad not sensitive, have to input the digits of the phone number a few times for it to register.Speakerphone is clear.Screen display is too small, a 5 inch display with Tracfone service will really make my day.Data being used when connected to the internet. This puzzles me.Camera is fine.Sharing pics is an ease. Texting is good. Overall, I'm pleased with it and especially for the Tracfone service plan.
