I purchased the Samsung Galaxy Tab S from eBay. This wifi + 4g model stands out in many ways. I have a model compatible with Verizon, the SM-T807V 1.) Display Resolution & Quality - 2560x1600 (even though the eBay item description is incorrectly stating this model has a lower resolution - eBay, please fix that!). It is crisp & clean and bright. Comparison - I like to read a lot, and had initially purchased a Galaxy Tab 4, which I quickly realized was not going to work for me with its display of 1280x800. Reading on it for 10 minutes caused me fairly significant eye strain. I asked my husband to try, and it was the same for him. I'm 51, he's 58, and younger eyes might not have this difficulty, but we sure did. I've also had a Motorola Xoom with the same lower resolution, and had the same results. Yes, we've tried it with apps like "Twilight" and using the Bookerly font in Kindle, etc., anything that is supposed to make reading easier. It didn't help. Enter the Galaxy Tab S... The display on the Tab S is so much better! I can read for as long as I want (it also has a reading mode you can activate in the pulldown shade) and my eyes don't bother me at all. Youtube Videos are great, too. I have noticed that Facebook videos seem a bit off, but after some research, it seems that FB is sending all mobile devices (including larger tablets) a lower-res version of most videos because it's usually not noticeable on smaller devices, and I guess saves them bandwidth. But, there is supposed to be a setting for that I will try today. In other words, if you see that when you're test-driving a Galaxy Tab S, it's not the device, it's Facebook. :-) 2.) Size/Form Factor & Construction - it's light... and Oh, so thin... But still looks & feels incredibly well-made, and is easy to hold, which I wondered about getting a 10" tablet. I have the Dazzling White model. With the bronze trim, it's really attractive, too. Even with the 10.5" form factor, the fact that it is so thin & light still makes it very portable. So, why would anyone want a 10.5" tablet when you can get smaller ones? That's a good question. (I personally sold a 7" Verizon Ellipsis to get a larger one.) A bigger tablet was better for me because: a) I have a very large smartphone (Samsung Galaxy Note 4) to begin with, and I found that my 7" tablet was hardly getting used. If my phone was too small for a task, I just grabbed my laptop because the 7" tablet didn't do much more for me than my 5+ inch phone. b) Bigger is Better... The larger tablets (especially with such dazzling displays like the Tab S) are better for sharing demos... of anything. From showing a potential customer photos or video, the 10.5" display is big enough to be impactful, and to set on a table and have several people view it at once. I've tried this with a 7" tablet, and people will tend to want to pick it up so they can see it. Then, you have to wait for several people to hand the device around and watch the same thing. In those scenarios, it is a time-waster to have a smaller tablet. And with the very bright display of the Galaxy Tab S, it performs fairly well outdoors, too. c) The keyboard/case combos that fit a 10" tablet are actually reasonably functional. If you've ever tried one of those integrated combo case/keyboards for a 7" tablet, you know what I mean... makes smaller tablets much less practical for actually doing any work. d) You can take notes, work with office docs, spreadsheets, etc., much more efficiently because you can actually see what you're doing. Also, for me, in addition to working more quickly, I tended to make fewer mistakes. 3.) OS, Responsiveness, processor, multitasking - I've upgraded to Lollipop 5.0.2, and I love it. No issues of any kind so far with the OS. Used the Antutu Benchmark testing app and it gave a solid benchmark performance of 41000. It doesn't lag (I replaced the stock Touchwiz launcher with Nova Launcher; I just prefer it, and since I have it on my Note 4, it keeps my Tab S operating similarly with the same look & feel.) It's fast, it switches between tasks fast, it just does everything fast! Took it to Verizon, was up and running on their 4g within minutes. Wifi, bluetooth, seem very solid and don't drop out like some other devices I've had. No complaints of any kind, here. 4.) Price - I got a gently used Tab S wifi+4g on eBay for $299. You couldn't tell it from new. I couldn't be happier. Even though I believe the first of these came out just over a year ago, Samsung has done a great job. This tablet would be hard to beat.Read full review

I bought this device specifically to use Google Project Fi, as it is listed as a supported device. It works across CDMA and GSM networks as at home, it is on T-Mobile, six miles away it is on Sprint. I even got it to work on AT&T's network!. The display is dazzling, the inner workings great and it just works for what I need it for.
