Unlike its predecessor, Monster of Monsters, Godzilla 2:War of the Monsters is a strategy games where you defend the Earth from various Toho monsters including, but not limited to, Godzilla, Rodan, Mothra, King Ghidorah and other Toho kaijus. While the game can please fans of the genre and tokusatsu fans alike, it is not recommended for the average gamer because of its flaws, like a sometimes unbalanced difficulty and confusing gameplay style (Which is to be expected with the strategy genre). Godzilla 2 may not be a Koei strategy game, but it can be enjoyable for what it is, even though it's not a game for everyone. If you want a game that can please a broader audience, I'd recommend its much more affordable prequel, Godzilla Monster of Monsters, which is a more classic sidescroller that still manages to retain some of the strategy elements of War of the Monsters. Overall, War of the monsters can be fun for strategy loving monster movie fans and collectors (Because the game is quite rare and expensive, being released late in the NES' life cycle), but is not recommended for the average gamer who should consider buying the prequel if he's interested in buying a Godzilla gameRead full review
