I only had a chance to use it a few times so far, but i can already say that this KitchenAid Professional 5 plus makes the lightest and fluffiest pancakes and waffles I have ever made. I cant wait to use the dough hook to make focaccia and pizza' dough....I love this mixer, it has a very powerful but silent motor, it works extremely well, smoothley and consistently..... It is also very stylish and looks great on the counter.....i definitely think the Professional 5 Plus is an excellent mixer, that get's the job done effortlessy....the 450 Watts motor is a robust feature. I am very pleased with this mixer overall.
I love my kitchen aid mixer for what I do. If you bake a lot then I would recommend a bigger than 5 quart bowl. Wish there was a better option for the blades but thinking it is just an option I will get used to after using it awhile. After all if Emerile uses it it has to be the best right???

I got my beater-blade with the silicon scrapers attachment and used my KA for the first time. I love it. It is a beautiful mixer, works very nicely, and I am extremely pleased with the results in making a few dozen cookies in it. I will be using this KA mixer every week now that I have a nice mixer and a 5 qt bowl. My next purchase will be a 7 qt bowl before the holidays that will work with my KA mixer. If you want a great mixer that works beautifully, then this is the one to get. Very powerful, makes a little noise, but what mixer doesn't, and looks great on the kitchen counter. This is a good mixer and investment. It also came with a KA 1 year warranty as well which makes me feel safe and secure. Thank you...
I love to bake cookies from scratch. I burned up my wife's hand mixer on a batch of toll-house, and though I enjoyed the workouts mixing cookie dough with a wooden spoon, I simply could not take the guilt any longer. I had my heart set on a 6 quart machine, but I decided to go with this 5 quart mixer because of the all steel gears. I fired up this bad boy and fed it a triple batch of my chocolate chip franken-cookies. I had to occasionally push dough back down into the bowl because I exceeded the capacity of the bowl, but the machine never missed a beat. It didn't even slow down a little. If I had the money to spend on the 7 quart machine, I would do it in a second, but I am extremely pleased that I bought a real mixer that is built to take a bit of punishment for the sake of tasty treats. I love the bowl lift and the solid, stationary head. The design makes the machine stable and easy to use without making a mess. The attachments are well made and easy to clean, and the handle on the bowl allows it to be removed from the pins and clip with a quick upward tilt. The Pro 5+ is a scaled down version of a commercial mixer. It's kind of pretty too in an industrial sort of way; I have it parked on the kitchen table like a lincoln town car.Read full review
Replaced a good tilt head for the power for bread making. Excellent for this purpose. Also discovered it is a time saver as I can scrape down the bowl while mixing rather than stopping the mixing as with the tilt head. So glad I bought it.
