Great little tablet. While it has windows RT i don 't have a problem with that. I like the free office that it comes with. No yearly charge. In fact i liked my first so much i bought a second. Mine are both around a year old and my battery health tests run around 97%. I tested both after getting them. With a full charge i was able to watch around 7.5 hours of Netfix. Can't beat them at the current price.

I was looking for something fairly cheap to take with me on my business trips without lugging my Asus ROG Laptop beast. Build quality is great. I thought for the money this would be perfect. Well, Windows RT SUCKS. I cannot install Google browser first of all. The amount of apps is a joke. Also, take my advice and unless you are running an Android platform you need 4 GBs RAM to keep this from bogging down. Maybe worth the $147 I purchased but I'd spend more if I had to do it again.

I like the product as it works almost as a laptop, however you cannot run .exe programs. I like the kick stand and camera is really good. I like the paint software as it gives a real look of various types of paints used for art. I love the battery life which right now is around 10 hrs. I only found one issue which is speaker, where I sometimes listen tickling sounds when I play music or watch movies at 100% volume level. I don't know what is that for, but it is good when you use headphones. However, I bought this to do some normal works specially on-the-go. Its light than my existing laptop and let me work on the programs I wanted to use (Office). I would have given 5 star but due to speaker I removed one star.
Nice but limitations. First, if you look at the picture you will see that it really is a Surface 3 (windows logo on side). The great limitation is the screen - watch out - it cracks very easily. This one had a little crack in the corner and about a third of the touch screen didn't work. I have had others where you had to turn the touch completely off because of ghost touches. Microsoft did a bad job designing protection for the screen. It starts up fast and is real zippy. I use it for word processing and youtube. It is fast and fine. When new there were a lot better, cheaper alternatives in laptops but the Surface is of good quality and very small, easy to carry around if you protect that delicate screen. I have the click keyboard and it works fine and is lighted up but the touchpad leaves a lot to be desired. There is no click buttons just tap and it is hard to find the tap area. I also have Surface 1 and 2 and they all seem to be equally good except the 1 screen seems a lot sturdier. In my use they seem equal in spite of different processors.Read full review

For most people, this would be a great tablet. Does most things easily and comes with Office so you can work on all your docs and spreadsheets, etc. Best thing is the add-on (extra cost) keyboard which is BACK-LIT and awesome! KEEP IN MIND This runs "RT" 8.1 so you CANNOT load "normal" programs like you could on a regular pc. If it is not in the windows store, forget it. For example, you can't load Quicken or any normal pc programs. Also I doubt they will have an upgrade to Win10 from this RT version like they offer for pc or laptop bought with regular 8.1. Just won't happen.
