This unit was a close out and my first move was to load Windows 10 since I have no love for 8.1. For the price I paid, I feel that this laptop was a good purchase. Clearly this an entry level laptop but for my basic needs this unit offered a good price vs./ performance ratio. For web browsing, word processing, spread sheets and the like, the performance is fine. As yet, not sure about the single jack for headphones and mic but there are adapter cables to accommodate my traditional items. I bumped up the memory to 8 GB which was a minimal expense. The screen, keyboard and battery are all in the moderate performance area which is acceptable for me. If your needs or expectations are higher you will want something better.

Nice laptop for the price, but the keyboard makes an otherwise quality laptop feel like a cheap one. The old ThinkPad's has better keyboards. Other than that, I very much like this laptop, and would recommend it to someone else. An additional recommendation would be to upgrade this laptop the way that I did - with an SSD drive and 16GB of RAM.

This pc laptop is a perfect middle-of-the-road machine. Quick enough for streaming music and movies and a solid performer with office applications. Great for college. The hard drive on mine is only 500Gb, but if you need more memory, I believe there's a similar model with the 1Tb HDD. This laptop is not a lightweight notebook style - its a full-service "real" pc. The chiclet keyboard is excellent - nice tactile feedback on downstroke with a fingertip-hugging upstroke. Processor works fine while running multiple apps. Probably not enough horsepower for serious gaming. Windows 10 OS is a big improvement over 8.1 - like an updated Win 7. Also, the screen colors are nice, too. You will appreciate the CD/DVD drive if you have discs around w/ music or data. This laptop will work well if you are ripping CDs to your digital music library. BTW, the speakers are ok but like all laptops the sound is too weak for serious listening. Run your own EQ software and use earphones for better sound. One weird design problem, but not a deal killer. When open, the bottom corners of the screen top get caught on clothes, sheets and pillows when you drag the laptop toward you or shift position. I often work in bed so it happens a lot. A minor problem but I worry that I will break something off. All in all, a very good value for a sub-$300 laptop (2016).Read full review

Lightweight but with a large screen. Set up was a breeze through Outlook. Cloned all my settings and apps from my Surface Pro just by logging into my Outlook account. Battery life meter asked only about three hours on a full charge which won't get you across the country but many plans have outlets these days. Otherwise great value for the money. Quick shipping.
