This is the fourth Autel x-star premium that I have purchased. 1 for myself and one for each of my nephews. This drone provides outstanding video and stills using a 4K camera. it is extremely easy to use without a great deal of learning or flight time. those who have watched it fly were amazed and many asked where they can get one. It is a great deal for the price as it is comparable to drones which cost twice as much.

This is a neat little plane. I bought it as a travel plane cause I do a lot for of traveling and don’t want to be away from flying for too long. I had to set this up with full rates to do anything more than fly in a circle. Should be great to expose the kids to RC planes.

This plane is a great set-up for the beginning pilot. It is easy to fly. My best advice is to stay in wide-open spaces so you don't park it in a tree. It weighs almost nothing so if it gets hung up in a tree it is very hard to get down. Trust me. Keep a soccer ball handy - that his how I retrieved mine. But, wow what a fun thing to fly. The panic button will instantly stabilize the plane and it is fun to do stunts in advance mode and then switch it right back to beginner so you don't pile it into the ground. My unit has sustained several crashes - sometimes with no damage, sometimes with damage requiring epoxy to get it back in the air. If you hit hard on the nose, it sometimes dislodges the motor (easy to epoxy). A nose-in can also dislodge the propeller shaft gear (the bigger one) from the motor gear. A simple push with a ball-point pen will slide the propeller shaft gear back into place. I also bought floats for my unit which I do not recommend. The plane cannot handle ANY water splashing on it. Mine got a tiny bit of water inside the cabin (where the electronics are) and I thought I had ruined it. After a day of drying, it coughed back to life but I think I was lucky. I have since coated the electronics with dielectric grease to keep out moisture but I have not ventured back out on the water. I left the floats on however and actually hand launch it and land it in the grass with the floats. I would recommend this plane to anyone. It is a blast to fly and makes even a mediocre pilot like me feel like a pro.Read full review

Very easy to fly right out of the box. The 3 flight modes are a great way to learn how to fly. Beginner mode will keep you from making a flight mistake and putting the plane into the ground. Once comfortable with beginner mode, easily switch to intermediate mode to be more daring. When ready, advanced mode is a fast, no holds-barred acrobatic flight. You can switch between modes while flying with the flip of a switch. The best part about this plane is the panic button. If the plane gets too wild, push and hold the panic button and the plane will right itself, flying straight and level with a slight nose up attitude. This plane does get blown all over the place in small winds so calm days are a must. Great product and a lot of fun. If you already have a controller, you can buy just the plane and save $30.Read full review

I like the plane and it is easy and fun to fly with in a light wind but the battery hookup is very poor and easily put in wrong. There doesn't seem to be any diode protection if it is hooked up backwards. Sometimes it will just get the battery hot and bend the 2 very small connector pins which happened to me. The last time I got it hooked up wrong the battery connectors were ruined and the plane connector was fried. I soldered a new plane connector in but it had ruined one of the servos which would only work in one direction. The servos are part of the esc so it is very expensive to replace the whole board. If the connectors were a different to make it impossible to hook up backwards it would solve this problem. The Velcro that holds the battery in is to weak so I replaced mine. It probably is the easiest plane to teach yourself to fly so I would still recommend it.I actually own 2 of them and have binded them to the same transmitter. Read full review
