This trimmer works flawlessly. Has enough power to cut through most of the growth that you will find around your normal home. Strong but will not cut into things like rose bushes. The auto feed line works well and don't have to worry about fooling with the spooler to feed the line. Run time is right at 15 minutes so it helps to have an extra battery pack on hand, or you can stretch a drop cord out and continue to trim with the plug that is built right into the handle. Batteries are easy to exchange and take about 30 minutes or less to recharge. The telescopic and tilt handle adjusts easily to any position you feel comfortable with and even turns so it can be used as an edger. All in all a good light duty trimmer to have around.

Not impressed. Weak line and weak motor. Even the string being out too far and hitting the guard can slow it down significantly. It is not going to handle much more than grass and light weeds. And even with those it's still a job that requires finesse. The angle of the line while spinning tends to curl upwards making you have to really lean the tool forward into the cut. It is nice and light and I like the idea, but it just isn't quite there.

So far this has proven to be a good machine for my requirements. I'm not wacking heavy stuff and I don't have big acreage. A couple of things worth noting: This trimmer is noticeably more powerful when in the plugged in mode. Another is that it helps if you already have the higher capacity batteries available with the Ryobi 18V tool line. The battery that ships with this trimmer is kind of skimpy and gives out after a few minutes. Keep those limitations in mind and this can be a pretty good tool.

I enjoy this trimmer because I don't have to drag out the electrical cord. However it can be used with a cord which I have not done. I have 3 Ryobi batteries and chargers so I am set for a while. It is very good for lighter work and gets the job done. It is quiet too. I love it for everyday trimming and am more likely to do my trimming now with this cordless trimmer. I would opt for something with a bit more power though for tougher jobs. It may have a bit more power with the electricity attached but I have not yet tried that. It is fairly light and very convenient and I would buy it again. Yes, I would recommend it!!!!!!

Have a large yard and have been using a Sears corded string trimmer. The 200 feet of cord is a pain in the posterior. Since I have been into the Ryobi One+ battery tools, this was an easy step. Looking forward to Summer to get some serious use. Am a little concerned about the non-tap string feed. Appears every time the trigger is pulled, the string feeds.
