The Roomba 790 is overall an excellent little machine we have The Roomba 560 and Roomba 650 and the 790 is a much needed upgrade to the Roomba line. We have a 560(Kevin)that gets into all kinds of trouble and usually gets lost on the way back to the charger. he is loud and will run into just about everything pretty hard. otherwise he will clean his area of the house (stone floor) pretty well. we just don't want to be around while he is at it. Therefore all of our Bot's are scheduled to start about an hour after we leave every other day Our 650 (Bee B) is a decent step up from Kevin !! She is a little quieter. has more finess dealing with objects, has better escape manuvers and always seems to find the charger when finished Both Kevin and Bee B take the same Heppa filter and both Horrify the cat ! Which leads us to our 790 "Lurch" a few things I noticed right away: Lurch has a more pleasing and modern programming interface *Lurch is quieter !!!! *Lurch will reverse in a straight line to spot clean *Lurch has 2 heppa filters in the back and the exhaust doesn't blow pet hair away from the back of the machine unlike Kevin *Lurch is even better than Bee B about colliding headlong into objects. he is better at sensing and slowing down before the bang *Lurch has a battery remaining indicator unlike earlier models *Lurch doesn't get stuck as easily as our other Roomba's these units are not cheap leaving one to hesitate before buying "Are they really worth all that money ??" YES Go ahead and do it !! they save a lot of time and do the chore for you. we come home from a hard day and the house is obviously vacuumed ! all that remains is to get Kevin home to charge now while you have to clear the area of anything that they can get stuck on prior to the mission this is no different than what I have to do before running the Dyson and this has trained our lazy butts to keep the clutter at bay all the time which results in a much cleaner house. they make good conversation pieces just sitting there and Kevin is everybody's favorite whipping boy Just Get one. they work well and you know you want one ThereRead full review
Highly recommend this time saving robot that you can program to clean your house up to 7 times a week. Duel HEPA filters are great and I have never seen any dust coming out of the robot. This model is especially good on pet hair and dander - amazing even me at the amount of hair it can find.

I am using exclusively on tile floors and the only problem has been that the grout grooves seem to confuse it. It will keep changing direction & backtracking instead of proceeding forward at many of the grout lines. I have to manually relocate it to get the whole room done. But it eventually gets the job done. I suspect it would be more efficient on a smooth surface. It does maneuver around furniture and over area rugs as advertised and I am always amazed at the junk I have to empty from the bin. Helps me keep the cat hair problem under control without so much effort on my part! The virtual walls are great! And I am happy with the noise level.
This Roomba is awesome 790 model has a touchpad control which is weight different from all the others. Cleans like nothing else. Comes home every time. Put a new battery in it it runs for 2 hours straight. Ben is always full so I know it's doing its job. Even though the floor looks immaculate I don't know where all this is coming from. Love the 790 model.

It implies a set it and forget device but thats far from the truth. Besides having to make sure it doesn't get stuck on something, the ridiculously small dust/trash reservoir needs constant emptying especially the first few times its used (and especially if you have 3 dogs each weighing over 150#, and 3 kids who are worse than the dogs). Otherwise, its fine.
