I buy gold whenever I can, and keep it in the hard-as-nails-to-open Assayers container. ALWAYS keep them in original Assay box and in a bank vault. I made one into a pendant and tacked one more gram on the back....making it heavy enough to self center. (just the pendant weighs 1.5 grams of 14k before you add the 24k gold bar(s). Also guns are always good to have. I'd use the long guns for food. No, I am not a doomsday prepper, but it is always good to know I have more than a bunch of worthless paper as my only asset to buy food and goods for my family. These days I am not to confident in the USA trying to print it's way out of debt. So I buy Gold, Platinum, and Silver with a little bit of high quality copper as well. It is just a good feeling to have a paid for home, just paid off my 4.4 year old car....which still has 5.6 years and/or 100,000 miles of B2B warranty. (I bought the extended warranty from the manufacturer who also does not trade with US money). Thanks for taking us off the gold standard American Government. MY government. Really helped us all out.Read full review

These 1 g bars are beautifully packaged, adding to their aesthetic value if nothing else: great eye appeal, really. One piece of information I got from bullion.exchanges is that each 1 g bar is .40 mm thick as opposed to the .5 g bars that appear to be the exact size but are in fact .19 mm thick. SO, I guess each sliver of .01 (however that works out grams/grains whatever adds up for the bigger more monied investor. No biggie here. I think these are beautiful keepsakes whose value is to perhaps be determined some later time in the future, who knows. I think they're worth what I paid BUT I do like to keep an eye on the fluctuating prices and the overall market for gold on a regular basis in order to get the best deal. For the record, I think e-Bay is maybe the best place to buy bullion based on shipping rates etc. Prices stay more competitive than I'd expected. This is based on over-time observations, web-site oriented bullion distributors, the length of time it takes to receive an order. (One gram is probably a joke to the bigger houses so not a lot of priority is placed on small orders. Until or unless there are any changes to my observations, I'll be sticking with e-bay for bullion as I'm not sure how much I trust local retailers. Once they have you in the store YOU'RE at the disadvantage. (You've driven all that way, prices shifted unfavorably; different factors.) Sooooooooooooooo... is all this starting to sound familiar to you too? Whatever. WFN Las Vegas, NV USARead full review
I like the IGR more than the other brands because the Chinese "replica" website haven't taken the far more extra effort it would require replicate their anti-counterfeiting features. Suppose they'll show up eventually, but, so far they're "replicating" almost all other bullion, coins, etc.

Is a good way to enter into buying gold at an inexpensive amount or to have smaller/fractional amounts in your gold (or precious metals) collection.
