This book is commonly sold with the Zerner-Farber Tarot, a gentle Tarot deck that was created by taking pictures of Amy Zerner's gorgeous fabric tapestries and collages. It attempts to simplify Tarot for the beginning reader by taking each of the 78 cards and giving eleven different meanings for each. These meanings are: You, What Surrounds You, What Blocks You, Your Foundation, What is Behind You, What Crowns You, What is Before You, Your Persona, How Others See You, Your Hopes or Fears, and lastly: The Outcome. Many readers will recognize these headings as positions in the famous Celtic Cross Tarot spread. Anyway, the reader lays out the card, and then looks up each card--reading only the meaning attributed to the position the card is in. For example, let's say you placed the Magician in the What Blocks You position in the Celtic Cross. You go to the chapter on the Magician and read only the meaning under 'What Blocks You'. Then you would go on to the next card, read the meaning of its position and so on. Many people will dislike this sort of fast food tarot, this is quick, easy and devoid of any deep dark nuances. Traditional tarot books devote anywhere from 2-5 pages on the meanings of the Major Arcana, and this book has about three-four SENTENCES in each position meaning. I wondered if the cards would even make any sense, with their meanings so chopped up, and so lacking in the normal level of complexity I see. However, I have to admit that the system works pretty well. I used the cards and book for three or four readings got very nice, coherent answers, which really surprised me. I think that this set would be most suitable for beginners who are just starting out. By being so simple and clear, even the person who just picked up the cards an hour ago should be able to succeed in putting some sort of reading together. Will it be as good a reading as that of a more experienced reader? Well, no, but the important thing is that the set allows some feeling of accomplishment right off. For many beginners, laying out a spread leaves them looking mutely at 5-10 completely incomprehensible cards. That experience can be enough of a turnoff that they may leave Tarot forever. This set eases them past those initial scary spreads, until they develop some comfort and familiarity with the cards. Then, I imagine, if they continue with Tarot, they may begin to feel a litle limited by these short meanings and go looking for other books to help them learn more. One final note: Many Ebay sellers are selling this book CLAIMING THAT IT WORKS FOR ANY TAROT DECK. ABSOLUTELY NOT TRUE. This book is designed to work with the Zerner-Farber Tarot. The meanings given in the book work well with the Zerner-Farber Tarot or the Enchanted Tarot (the other deck by Amy Zerner) but they are very different from the meanings given to other Tarot decks. So if you pick up this book and try to use it with say, the Rider Waite Tarot, you'll be learning meaning that aren't true for the Rider Waite. And when you move on to other books, you'll find out that what you've learned doesn't go with the Rider Waite...or any other deck except the Zerner-Farber. So, a great book for beginners using the Enchanted Tarot or the Zerner-Farber Tarot. But it's a little limiting and simple for anyone other than beginners.Read full review
I ordered this book with cards because I wanted the cards I already own the book. Description clearly says cards and book nmNo cards included. Now I have 2 books and no cards. Not impressed and way over charged

The cards were smaller and thinner than the original deck I had from the same kit. One card hade some damage on the back. Maybe its an old rubber-band fused to the back? Idk. Overall it is decent.

A Friend used these cards for my reading recently and I was so pleased and just loved the colors and detail of the cards. I was thrilled to get my own set. These cards are so easy to learn, and you don't need to learn reversal meanings. I was very happy how simple this tarot set is to use. I strongly recommend This beautiful set. Tarot is not difficult or confusing with this set. Beginners, this is what you want for your first Tarot set.
Book without cards is not workable. Please send cards or mention Book Only.
