Learning tarot is hard for me - I just cannot seem to memorize the meanings of the cards! These are fantastic, with great easy meanings to work with. The card stock is less stiff than standard tarot/oracle cards and much easier to shuffle as well.

I bought this deck to have a "cheat sheet" right there when I do a card layout, to remind me of the meanings of the cards. Of course, the text written on each card is VERY basic, and not complete, but it does serve as a good reminder. You can, of course, go to any of the (many!) Tarot books for a fuller description of each card's possible meanings and the fine nuances inherent in them, especially when in combination with other cards. Overall, an excellent learning tool for the beginner!

I developed an interest in tarot at a later age, when the memory starts to go, at least in my case! For that reason, this deck which has a caption on each card outlining the meaning, both upright and inverse, well I thought it would be perfect. The graphics on the face of these tarot cards are based on the Waite deck, somewhat cropped to make way for the caption to be added. The applied captions are ideal. One drawback of course, is if you don't happen to agree with the given meaning of a card, then you had better commit a replacement mental caption to memory in advance of any reading. When I first looked at this tarot card deck, my initial impression was that the graphics on the card faces are lovely, and the back of the cards are a very very peculiar color combination - blue and deep pencil-like yellow. At first it was hard to comprehend why... But after handling them, I realized there was something 'special' about the color theme that brought me great peace. This deck and I are already great friends! All in all I absolutely love this tarot card deck. The deck would make a perfect gift for a friend or relative expressing interest in tarot, as it's a great way to apply the meanings to memory, and a lovely deck. Myself, I have a new good friend in this deck, I highly recommend it. Just keep in mind that the meanings of each card change as you evolve as a reader, so it will only be appropriate for a beginner Tarot card reader.
