They're the real deal Apple charging blocks and work as expected. Designed by Apple in CA and made by Apple Japan. Not that any other aftermarket charging blocks would not work -- they will -- but at this price why not get the item that was designed and spec'd for Apple products. They're also extremely compact -- about 1" square aside from 120v plug part -- which makes them great for travel/pocket, and the standard female USB port is compatible with so many cables. Perfect!

Apple really fell short on the quality of their charges. Do you think for all the money you paid for their products their charges would be of equal quality. I find this not to be the case with almost every Apple charger I have ever had I've always had to replace with something else that always seem to work better. Go figure!
