The Amazon Fire HD 10" is an overall good tablet. The main use of it is for watching movies, surfing the web, and reading books. Since the quality of the screen is not 1080P or 1920 X 1080 resolution, the image on the screen will not be as sharp when watching movies. If you go from watching 1080p to 720p, you might notice the slight difference but if your use to 720P resolution you will not miss much. Since the Fire HD does not run Android OS, it will be limited to many applications that run on Android and apple IOS. Fire OS still has much to offer in terms of application, but you will have to do research to see if your favorites apps run on Fire OS. If you like reading books on Kindle, then this device will be an excellent tablet because of its wide screen. Flipping it on its vertical side can give you lots of reading room. Surfing the web is also another of its strong points. Given its price range, you won't get the best graphics but will grant you a good overall table to multimedia use. It's a good introductory tablet. Read full review

I purchased this hoping to use for a companion to my phone only to realize that although its a nice little tablet it wasn't going to meet my needs. For the price tho this tablet is great for simple games, surfing the internet, checking emails, jumping onto social media. I connected a bluetooth keyboard and it worked well. A good buy for the money but again, more of an entry level tablet.

The windows laptop is not the ultimate computing machine. It can do many things right, and enough other things well to make sure that it should be in the inventory of everyone that is connected these days, but considering the length of time it takes to do anything, - it is not lightweight. Enter the tablets. Droid is a godsend for those who want to stay connected without carrying around a laptop (or, god forbid, a full PC.) Then along comes the Kindle brand from Amazon. Small, lightweight, markedly restricted in what it does, it fits the niche and works good enough for 70 - 80 % of my computing needs. The 10" screen means I can use it without my reading glasses. Yeah, for about $100 or so, get one. You'll learn to love it. -Russ

bought the tablet with the intent of getting rid of the amazon stuff and converting it to an android tablet. Was pretty easy to do using programs on the web. seems to work just fine. Screen is good size to watch videos on while working at a desk.

My Fire HD 10 is a great bargain for everything it offers. The size is perfect and it's lightweight making it easy to hold for an extended time while watching movies, playing games or reading your favorite novel. The screen is clear and crisp and the sound is easy to listen to. It can hold many books, games and novels without any problem. Kindle Cloud is available which I use to store my contents. I highly recommend this tablet because I don't think it can be beat for the price.
