It didn't bring a charge, but lucky I have one and it works great, especially for the price.

No charger was included but, luckily I had one from a previous Toshiba tablet I owned. Unfortunately, after 8 hours charging, it did not hold a charge...at all!!! The case had several large chips (almost chunks) around the edges. The only saving point to this purchase is the screen glass was intact so hopefully I'll be able to get it swapped to my existing tablet that has a broken screen. So glad I didn't pay much for it.

I did my research to find a nice traveling tablet to tote along on trips rather than the heavier, larger laptop. Main interest was reviewing photos from my camera (SD card) on a larger screen, email, travel record-keeping (spreadsheet and text), finding restaurants and checking weather quickly (Internet), mapping, and Google Earth. The Thrive makes reading and writing to the full-sized SD card easy and convenient. I added a slim, lightweight carrying cover with a built-in USB keyboard, which really works well with the Thrive. The wi-fi works great and is fast even with less-than-strong signal (better than my laptop). The included software surprised me by including mapping software with a Beta version of GPS navigation -- and it, too, works well. I added just 2 apps -- Quickoffice Pro (it comes with a read-only version of Quickoffice but that's not good enough) and Google Earth -- and I'm quite happy with the result. Does all I wanted. Screen is very bright, colorful and detailed. With SD card on and wi-fi on the battery lasts about 7 hours and the Thrive is one of only 2 tablets with a user-replaceable battery (and I did buy a spare battery but haven't needed it yet). Overall, the Thrive is exactly what I wanted, works perfectly without issues or problems with software, and costs less than other tablets. The 16 gig version with the ability to read and write to a full-sized SD card is more than enough storage even with lots of photos. Glad I purchased the Thrive.Read full review
I bought the 32GB Tablet for myself and out of the box it has not been a disappointment. So I ordered the 16gb for my wife as a gift. I rated this a 4 only because it doers not have the HD features on the IPad3 and Toshiba has not updated to the Android 4 OS but this is a real good value Tablet that I think can compete with any of the top tablets on the Market. It is a little bit thicker than most tablets but I frankly have not noticed any issues with that. The full USB slot and the removeable battery make up for that in my mind. I have used usb game controller from a PS3 game console as well as a USB keyboard without any problems. Movies play without any problems and the HDMI out to TV worked perfectly. Toshiba has a very good product here.
This is my first tablet,(Other than IPOD 4) i looked at different brands and was sold on the thrive as it has the USB port, SD Card, and HDMI slots built in. The battery life is excellent and it can be replaced by the user. The android 3.1 Honeycomb is lightning fast. The GPS and google earth are excellent. The e-book reader turns the page just like you were thumbing a real book. It has some very good apps, flash is a plus. Not so good are the camera's quality, or the audio speakers. I love my Thrive!! and would recommend it to a friend. Check it out, it works for me
