I recently bought several live CDs from the posthumous Zappa releases and have come to like this one best by far. Great sound quality, great songlist, tight arrangements, and generally a fun show. The mix is excellent and the energy of this band is far superior to the 88 band featured on the Broadway/Jazz Noise/Never Heard releases. (IMHO) I recommend this one for hard core fans and casual listeners too

This is Frank's touring band circa 1980, and they are in fine form here-this is about as good as a live rock band can sound. Although the arrangements are very complex in places, the band is very tight-to be expected, for sure with the likes of Steve Vai and Vinnie Colaiuta. The songlist tends to downplay extended solos here and feature more vocal / song related material. Particularly amusing is "The Real World thematic extrapolations" where Frank gives a detailed explanation of the "evils" that can occur before, during and after a visit to the disco. Also there is really old material such as "Chunga's Revenge" and Ain't Got No Heart" which is reworked just enough to sound fresh. Highly Recommended MB electdrums
There are tons of live Zappa performances - boots and authorized - but this one from Buffalo is excellent. From the set list to the sound quality, Zappa heads will need this one in their collection. Highly recommended.
