I saw the movie Hologram for the King. It featured the song Turn to Stone. It sounded different than the version on my CD. Searching, I ran across videos from this DVD on the internet. They sounded so good I had to get the DVD so I could enjoy them on my big stereo system. I'm am totally trilled after sampling the DVD. I can't wait to sit down and enjoy the whole thing. I read the Zoom tour as called off for lack of interest. I'm shocked to hear that. Jeff Lynne is so much a musical genius! These songs are about 40 years old and sound so good performed live.

This is a concert that was recorded just after the release of the album Zoom - It included some of the classic ELO and the new stuff. I love these old live recordings.

Just what you would expect from an ELO concert. I saw them way back in 1977 and it was a pretty good show then. Jeff Lynne runs through many of ELO's classics plus a good number of new songs. It was nice to hear ELOs earliest hits like Showdown and MaMaMa Belle. There were a number of good tunes missing like I'm Alive, Hold On Tight, Rock & Roll Is King and Calling America. But you can't expect to have everything. The performance itself was pretty tame, Lynne and his band don't put a lot of theatrics into the performance. The editing was good with occasional flashes of the small crowd and a good amount of footage of the band actually performing.
Select cuts from ELO's first 'The Electric Light Orchestra' to 'Face the Music', disco age 'Out of the Blue'. 'El Dorado' & 'Discovery' are all here, 'Live', While original core members Roy Wood & Bev Bevan no longer perform, Richard Tandy & Jeff Lynn carry the entire performance beautifully, quite effortlessly. This is a fun step-back in time evening for any who grew-up fans of ELO from their first forward, making this DVD money well spent.

Loved the selections. Not used to seeing Rosie Vela. Missed having a violin soloist but the band compensated pretty well.Cellos covered very well as did the electric guitar. I always like to see Richard Tandy at the keyboards. Good video and audio. Overall great value.
