Genesis 1983-1998. Commercial era? It's actually good!
This box has Genesis' studio albums from 1983's self-titled album all the way through Calling All Stations. This era, or at least the first three titles, shows Genesis at its more commercially successful. Many fans dislike this era because it was indeed commercially successful, but I think that it shows Genesis' versatility and their ability to make successful change. While I'm not saying that everything they put out was good, I think that this era deserves a careful listen as well because there are some gems in here. I was listening to Invisible Touch for the first time after many years, and as I remembered the rest of the stuff that was out being played on the radio or MTV, I realized that Genesis did it better for that type of stuff. The bonus DVD's are nice and I commend the band for making all sorts of rare stuff available. I wish there had been more in the way of live performances (Genesis' element), but if you can get this one for around $70 shipped, I say get it. If you're considering getting any of the boxes it's because you're a fan of the band anyway.Read full review

GREAT INSIGHTS IN GENESIS
I have always loved the sound of Genesis. This is an excellent set from 1983-1998. It has 5 music cd's and 5 dvd's. I love the dvd's which have alot of interviews and video's of their songs. It also let you know how the original members split and why, excellent. It has all the best songs from them, plus a few lesser known or popular as well, it also has video clips from Mike and the Mechanics, Phil, and Tony doing their solo productions. Excellent quality cd's and dvd's. If you love Genesis, this is a must have! I now want to find the earlier years version of this set, if there is one.

A must for Genesis fans
If you like the musical group Genesis then this box set is for you. It does cover their later years when they went mainstream, but I loved it.
