excellent album by gorden giltrap from the late 70's,outstanding display by some of the worlds great musicians here.i originally bought this album back when first released on lp, and it was this very album amongst some others that got me into playing drums, for here we have the mighty simon phillips on drums displaying some of his super double bass drum work and tasty high hat fills.buying this cd was a walk down memory lane for me, very pleased to have it ounce more, this time on cd. if you are into instrumental rock music i would recommend this album to anybody, it just dont get better!!!....cheers....steve.
This is amongst the best of Gordon Giltrap's albums. It's worth buying for the track "Weary Eyes" alone. This track is unusual (unique?) in that it features the singing of Gordon Giltrap. At a Giltrap concert in Birmingham Town hall it was so crowded that even with a box booked, my sister ended up sitting on my lap. Several of the tracks from "Fear of the Dark" were played. Eventually I had to get up and do a jig to recover the circulation in my legs. The write-up in the following day's "Birmingham Post" read "Giltrap even had them dancing in the boxes!" Well, it was true. Fabulous stuff.
Great series of acoustic and electric guitar tracks to relax to. Will also make you tap your feet along.
