I am a huge Hendrix fan so maybe i was expecting too much, but the audio wasn't much better than the standard DVD, and the video certainly wasn't any better at all. I had also purchased the Woodstock concert on blu Ray and was equally disappointed with the video quality. I guess it's too difficult to improve a poor quality recording. I also purchased the Led Zeppelin Song Remains the same a few months ago and was blown away by the quality of the recording and the audio so i thought these Hendrix releases were going to be just as good...not even close. I guess 5 years of advanced technology and filmaking had come along way in since Hendrix's performance and the Zeppelin recording at MSG.

If this was the definitive blu ray edition it would be in 1080p. Unfortunately it is in 1080i and looks grainy and like it would look if it was a vhs videotape! I had it on dvd and decided I wanted it to look better, so bought it on blu ray. Unfortunately I wasted my money, because the dvd version has a sharper and more detailed picture.
THe BLU-RAY of the concert is nice. THe concert is on FIRE!!! Any fan of Jimi should and must get this item to get the full affect of Jimi Live
