I bought this CD because it was cheap and the bands name seemed interesting. I was expecting some alt. or new wave sound WRONG !!!!! It's the big band sound with some interesting vocals. Horns and sax are great. Not my kind of music but I could not turn it off. This is somethimg else, Like Stray Cat Strut meets Guy Lombardo with a twist. I'm already a fan. So for being different and keeping my intrest on every song I must rate this an Excellent CD to have. Expanding the mind.
This cd, and of course the artist, is absolutely funny, hot hot hot, great music for swing dancing, and will flash you back to the 20's so fast you'll feel like you're actually there!!! I love this cd, always have. It is a definite must have for all you versatile music listeners!!! :)
Hot diggity dog what a CD! I bought this because I just absolutely love their style of music, especially the song, "Put a lid on it." It is a must for anyone, I don't care what genre of music you like...BUY THIS CD! It is well worth the price, time and effort.
You can't not like this music. It's true. For the week in 96' that swing and big band music made it's comeback via bands like The Cherry Poppin' Daddies, Big Bad VooDoo Daddy, and of course The Squirell Nut Zippers. It was fun while it lasted. This album is full of sharp humor, great music, and just goofy s**t in general. You can listen to this music and for a brief moment in time....even white people have rhythm!
Exactly what I expected and it arrived earlier than promised.
