A little more diverse than the first Mystic Chords of Memory release, Tree Colored See is still a much acquired taste. As a fan of Chris Gunst, I wanted these CD's in my collection. However, his work in Beachwood Sparks is more focused and accessible. Listening to some of these tracks, it is understandable why Chris Gunst is not participating in the wonderful Beachwood Sparks upcoming release "The Tarnished Gold". This music is a little more experimental than what his original band has matured into. I recommend this, but to see what started it all, I recommend everything you can find by Beachwood Sparks. His former bandmates kept him grounded, and in my opinion, that was a good thing.
