This was my 2nd Porgy And Bess Album - I had one of the original issues years back. So, basically, I've been a fan of Miles since the late 50s, so obviously, I'm happy with the album, as I bought for the music; not for having another original for the monetary value. So, I'm very happy with this replacement, as the music is the same to me now, as it was in the past. No one can replace Miles - my all time favorite trumpeter, and one of my all-time favorite musicians.
Fantastic remastering... As an old fan of Miles' playing, I had missed this album the first time around, and it was a joyful discovery as a reissue. Totally different take from his 'Sketches' or 'Blue' period, not as far out as his later takes, but this is Gershwin-collides-with-Davis at its best... Some great takes on the score of PORGY & BESS, with some of the best musicians ever to be in a studio together. You won't be disappointed.
Great pice, this is my favorite cd and was hard to find my replacement which was scratched!
