Marguerite de Valois, who is the French King's sister is forced to marry Henri de Navarre, a Protestant Huguenot. The marriage was a plot to appease the Protestants but in reality a ruse to lure them to the wedding to massacre them all. This was known as the St. Bartholomew's Day massacre in August 1572. I did not enjoy the film as a whole. It is very bloody and at times confusing to follow. It is only available with French audio and English subtitles. I bought this for the historical value and to see Isabelle Adjani and Asia Argento naked. The 2014 re-release trailer is included along with audio commentary. There are long trailers at the start of the video. This BD has DTS-HD Master Audio. Buy this for the beautiful women or the historical value.
