Aside from the manic bass lines, the CD reminds me of King Crimson with Adrian Belew type guitar noises and rythmns of the world. The vocals are still Primus but the music and structures are very wild. I particularly like Wynona, I think it was a great country tune for the disturbed.
You can't go wrong with Primus. While Tales From The Punchbowl is not their best album it is pretty darn good. Every once in a while this CD gets a little noisy and there is a good chance that your friends will walk out of the room if you put this on. Put it on anyway, you don't need friends like that! There are special rewards for those who pay close attention to all of the lyrics. 5 Stars.
The music on this cd is more traditional. The songs aren't as exciting as prior cds. On the Tweek agail would be the highlight of this albumn although Southbound Pachyderm is a very popular tune.
i liked a few songs on it but i really bought it for my dad for fathers day. He loves it alot and is always listening to it
SWEEEET Primus rules, les claypool kicks my ass and everyone elses who dares challenge him at da bass!
