This set includes the history of the Doors who in 4 years created many great songs and sadly it includes him falling down from on stage during live performances because of his drug use which took his life at age 27. Sad, tragic because he was a gifted poet and he wrote about important issues including injustices worldwide and had he lived and got clean because he was leaving the band and moved to Paris to pursue his writings as a poet. Because using the brain to change unhealthy thinking instead of doing drugs because people get stuck worrying about things because they Don't Know how to quiet the chatter which we are suffer from and music, exercise, meditation, writing, and releasing this in healthy ways because Music can lift you up by remembering the good times and this music is a timeless classic. People can conjecture because Bob Dylan pretended to be high or a a "druggie" to keep the press & others away from him. Until people learn to fight their shadow within instead of using alcohol or drugs because this still is a Huge problem because relying on these devices we have lost many talented people including fans who threw "gifts of drugs onstage" who thought they were helping him by bringing him drugs (fans) Because the drugs affected his live performances and many great musicians were lost and still get lost from drug use today. Reading about history because this set also includes printed lyrics which is an added bonus because not every album or cd set has printed lyrics including photos and interviews from 3 former band members from this 40th anniversary set released in 2007. The people who made this did an excellent job of explaining stories behind songs written including Morrison's frame of mind and what it was like in the 60's, 70's from drug use, Vietnam War, political protests against war and violence. Because these issues effect us all and it's possible to achieve anything without turning to drugs, alcohol or other substances.Read full review
