"But everything that I can say to you Won't help you - everything you need is right in front of you Just take it" The primary reason that I purchased --or should I say-- REpurchased it was because I first bought it at a retail store when it was released a few years ago. I kept the CD in my car's CD changer. I sang along to most of the songs on the CD (especially Outside and It's Been Awile). Recently I took second place at the finals of a Bay Area Karaoke contest. I wanted to sing Staind, but it was a duet, and my partner didn't know the song well enough. Since 2001 I had been overseas and had forgotten most of the lyrics. This CD is in my library under Style:Rock, Genre:Metal. This CD provides both blistering guitar licks and soft, dramatic ballads. If you like either of the aforementioned songs, you'll probably like Fade and Warm Safe Place. If you like "For You", you'll like most of the other tunes on this CD like, "Open Your Eyes", "Pressure", "Suffer", and "Change" This CD also includes a song by Aaron Lewis called Epiphany. The CD that I have comes up in Windows Media Player with 14 tracks, the last of which says, "Outside [Live]" but it is actually an acoustic version of "It's Been A While". I suppose that this was the intended "Austrailia Bonus Track". eBay ID: Mai4MaiRead full review
Staind is an amazing band that other bands have been mimicing for years. This compact disc has many amazing songs on it, some played on the radio and a few less popular songs that you can fall in love with like new. I decided to buy this cd because it has my husbands favorite song and we had recently seen Staind in concert so it made a perfect birthday gift! I dont have any complaints about this cd and I cant wait to complete my entire staind library.
Staind is great for those days when you're at discord with life, the music drives hard with passionate to brutal force. It is all about emotion, and feeling, from deep down in the guts of rage, to love that's never quite satisfied. Even in the boyishly appealing tender moments, as in "Epiphany" or "Outside," never a happy song to the lot, but it's honest in dissecting the ugliness or despair that lies beneath our expectations and defeats. Some of the songs are best described as 'beautiful,' in the way the sentiments are expressed by lyric and music, "Epiphany" is that, and "Outside" as well. Aaron Lewis defines the art of passion and feeling in his work, can feel the sweat, the bleeding, the infernal rage. And of course, we love his gift because our hearts have all been crushed in the "pit and pendulum" pressures, swinging between elation and suffering, and know exactly what he means. Crash and Burn best describes the style of his music at its hardest.Read full review
Break the Cycle is a great CD, got some great songs on it that play often on any Rock radio station. Staind is a great laid-back rock/contemporary/soft rock band with lyrics that influence the human emotional condition. If you've had heartbreak, or are in love, Staind has some great songs that will appeal to your experience.
I think that this CD is probably their best CD. There are the obvious radio cuts and then there are the rest of the songs. And I have to say that if the only Staind songs you are familiar with are the radio songs, you are missing out on a lot. Each song on the CD is beautifully crafted (beautifully sounds strange to describe a fairly hard rock album, but it fits). The lyrics make you think, make you question society. The singer has a resonating voice, one that stays in your mind after for a long time after listening to it. A great CD and a must buy!
