This album was made 2004 and is dedicated to Quotron of Bathory. Its Death with a touch of Black metal.
"EATEN! my one desire, my only wish is to be EATEN!" (9/10) This is not a typical Swedish sounding death metal album, it's brutal, aggressive and gory. Some songs are fast paced and loaded with blast beats, others are slow and grinding. Peter Tagtgren's vocals are amazing, you can actually understand what's being growled, and the lyrics hold the usual themes of war, death and disease. The only reason I didn't give this a 10/10 is because I like to see metal evolving and moving forward, and this album doesn't bring any new innovations to the death metal genre (I suppose this is great for all you purists out there who know what sound you like and are fully satisfied by it). You probably know that bloodbath's members are from the bands Opeth(though there's no Mikael Akerfeldt on this album), katatonia and hypocrisy, and if you are thinking of getting a bloodbath album because of these bands, not because you love death metal, then maybe you shouldn't, because "nightmares made flesh" is a far cry from, say, "ghost reveries". over all I would say that if you are a gloomy death metaller, you need this album in your life. paid 1st class postage at extra cost, stated on web site 1-3 days. i waited 7 days. I was offered the 1st class postage back, then the postage. theres also a crack on the back of the cd case. its a shame he didnt really reply to my e-mails, and usually one word answers. To be honest, i dont know if i,ll use badlands again to buy any cds, which is a shame. He is only based 15 miles from my house !!!
