If you are a fan of TESLA, or a fan of hard rock in general, then you have got to get this cd if you don't have it. This is without a doubt, one of the finest debut albums of all time, from a hard rock band! I absolutly love everything about this disc. There is honestly not a bad song on it; very impressive for a debut album. As far as debut albums go, I would rank this up with BOSTON and VAN HALEN. The musicianship and production are first rate on this disc. The gritty, soulful vocals of Jeff Keith, are a perfect fit for the lyrics. Frank Hannon and Tommy Skeoch love to torture their guitars on every song, and they are exceptional guitarists. The rhythm section Troy Luccketta and Brian Wheat, pound out a furious, and steady backbeat, well suited for the songs. Production duties on this disc were handled by the dynamic duo of Steve Thompson and Michael Barbiero; first rate production and mix. Some of my favorite songs are EZ COME EZ GO, CUMIN' ATCHA LIVE, ROCK ME TO THE TOP, MODERN DAY COWBOY, CHANGES, LITTLE SUZI, LOVE ME, COVER QUEEN, in other words the whole disc; I love them all. If you love hard rock music; and you don't have this disc, then take my advice and get it, you will be glad that you did!Read full review
I don't know about you but 80's rock is eternal. This album came out in the late 80's and about every song on here is great. My next CD will be Tesla's The Great Radio Controversy. I recommend this classic CD to anyone, especially those who love 80's rock, or anyone who is looking for great music to listen to.

kick-ass debut from one of the greatest bands of the hair metal era. this disc has more in common w/ 70's era bands like aerosmith, boston & bad company, than it does w/ their 80's peers. there's some ratt, leppard influence that keeps it from sounding retro, but w/ better songwriting. it contains hits like little suzi & modern cowboy, and excellent album tracks like 2 late 4 love & cover queen. it's also home to 2 of their best 70's styled rock anthems, we're no good together & changes. a true gem from the 80's!
I forgot how good this "album" was! Glad to have it back in the library. Back from the glam rock era, this band was able to incorporate the popular sound while also inflecting their rock root background. A little Motley Crue, a little Led Zep - the album melts it all together. If you haven't listened to Mechanical Resonance in a while, pick it back up.
Tesla is in fine form on this album. They still are today. Frank, Jeff, and the boys blast out timeless rock-n-roll, providing classic hits that will be enjoyed for years. The Ronnie Montrose penned "Lil' Suzie" has a great feel, as do all the others. You can't go wrong, if you like rock music, with Tesla.
